Understanding Risk in the Community (RIC)

Risk in the Community (RIC) is Essex's partnership approach to protecting children and young people from exploitation. It recognises that risks do not only happen at home, but can also occur in places such as schools, parks, shopping areas, public transport, social media and online spaces.
RIC brings together professionals, community organisations and local partners to identify risks, support young people and their families, and take action against those who exploit children. The approach focuses on making communities safer, preventing harm and disrupting exploitation wherever it occurs.
