Bullying

Bullying can happen to anyone, and it is never your fault. If someone is hurting you physically, emotionally or online, it's important to remember that you don't have to deal with it on your own.

A bully is someone who tries to hurt, upset or frighten another person on purpose. This can include:

  • name calling
  • pinching, hitting or pulling hair
  • threatening someone
  • spreading rumours

Bullying can also happen online. This is called cyberbullying and can include hurtful messages, social media posts, comments, images or other online behaviour designed to upset or intimidate someone.

Bullying can happen at school, at home, online or when you're out with friends. If you are being bullied, remember that help is available and there are people who want to support you.
