Black History Month Celebrations Bring Culture, Food and Fun to Youth Group
Young people enjoyed a vibrant and engaging Youth Group session this month as we came together to celebrate Black History Month.
The session was packed with activities, opportunities to learn, and plenty of delicious food. Everyone had the chance to enjoy a menu of jerk chicken, jollof rice and puff-puffs, giving young people a taste of some well-loved dishes from across Africa and the Caribbean.
There was something for everyone to get involved in throughout the day. A popular henna station gave young people the opportunity to explore creative cultural art, while the sounds of Afrobeats music kept the atmosphere lively. Friendly competition was also in full swing, with a FIFA tournament and games of pool keeping participants entertained.
As well as having fun, young people took part in a Black History Month quiz, testing their knowledge and learning new facts about Black history, culture and achievements. Many participants discovered something they did not know before, helping to make the celebration both enjoyable and educational.
The session was extremely well attended and full of energy from start to finish. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the event such a success. We hope you enjoyed the activities, learnt something new, and celebrated the incredible contributions and achievements recognised during Black History Month.
