Care Leavers Holiday Hampers
Each year the Essex children in care council run a care leavers holiday hamper campaign through funding and donations we managed to deliver a holiday hamper to every care leaver in Essex totalling 825 hampers. This year the focus has been on keeping warm and we have provided young people with ‘snuggle’ jumpers, hot water bottles, gloves and hats alongside some festive goodies.
The mammoth task of creating over 800 hampers was only possible with cross organisation and partners input. So a massive thank you to all the volunteers who supported the project, with special thanks to Mitie who delivered the hampers across the county, the LAC teams for helping pack the boxes and making a massive effort in distributing out to each care leaver in Essex in the quadrants and the Involvement service for leading on the project. Danbury (Esssex Outdoors service) was amazing providing us a space to pick and pack the hampers and helping us with deliveries.
