Have you been reported missing or are you thinking of going missing?
If you’re feeling unhappy or unsettled, you might feel like running away from everything. The truth is that running away doesn’t help to sort things out.
The first step to making things better is to talk to someone that you trust.
You can call these numbers for support if there isn’t an adult you feel you can talk to where you live.
• Childline
• Missing People - call the Runaway Helpline where someone will listen to you and offer support
If you do get reported missing, it’s important that you have the opportunity talk to people about why this happened and how you are feeling.
The job of the Missing Chats team is to talk to young people about why they went missing and what support they might need. Talking to our team about what is wrong could help you find a way of solving a problem. We understand that it can be difficult at times, and sometimes it can feel like decisions have been made for you that you do not always agree with. We can help you think about the best way to deal with any issues. We won’t judge you or tell you what to do.
If you return from being reported missing we will contact you by letter to offer you a missing chat, but you don’t have to wait for us to contact you, you can contact us direct:
