Celebrating an Amazing Achievement – National Care Leavers Benchmarking Award

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the fantastic achievement of one of our Children in Care Council young people, who has been recognised as a Local Hero at the National Care Leavers Benchmarking Awards.

This is a fantastic national recognition of the young person’s commitment, passion and determination to make a positive difference for children and young people with care experience.

Through their involvement in our Children in Care Council, they have used their own experiences and voice to help influence and improve services for other children and young people in care and care leavers. Their willingness to speak up, share their views and work alongside professionals demonstrates the powerful impact young people can have in shaping the services that support them.

Being recognised as a Local Hero is a huge achievement and is a wonderful example of how care-experienced young people can use their voices to create positive change—not only for themselves, but for others.
