Your social worker
Your social worker is responsible for making sure you are happy and well. They will:
- visit you every 4-6 weeks, or every week for the first month if you have moved into a new placement
- come to any important meetings
- make decisions about your care, contact with your family, your school and your health
It’s really important that you have a good relationship with your social worker. You might find it hard to talk to them when you first meet them, but they’re there to listen to you and talk about anything that’s on your mind.
'All about me' card
The 'All about me' card could help you. It was designed by the Children in Care Council for young people and social workers to use as a fun way to get to know each other.
